Super delicious. Pesto calamari...yum Recommend
Customer service is fantastic, the food is delicious. I will be back soon!!
Tortelloni and Calamari were both fantastic!
Best Italian food in Atlanta.
Every dish was delicious without question. Excellent place to spend NYE with good food. Staff was very polite and provided excellent suggestions.
I call this outstanding place many times as I like the good mood that is exist in this restaurant. The crew is exceptionally cordial and qualified. The service is exceptionally quick. Not to mention, the food you eat is magnificent. I have been there often and I was always satisfied. The expense is decent. I recommend this place to all my friends.
I enjoyed the lobster pasta and it was very flavorful. They also made my birthday memorable by adding a candle to my chocolate cake with vanilla gelato.
Fantastic. Pricey though. Was worth it.
Celebrated a birthday there. Excellent food and service. Will go back anytime.
We like a lot to go out. Last night we arrived in this delicious restaurant which we didn’t know before. We spent a delightful experience there with delicious cooking and an efficient crew and an impressive chef. We added this restaurant in our list and we will surely return soon. Highly recommended.
Fabulous experience here at La Grotta. We had gone there on our anniversary night. My wife and I being vegetarians were a little skeptical about the menu but our dietary preferences were accommodated so well and provided a great dining experience. Grilled portobello mushrooms and sacchetti are a must try for vegetarians visiting this place.
Great Italian restaurant. Waiter was good and very helpful with meal suggestions as well. Will definitely recommend.
Special dinner with my dear brother. The "off-menu" veal chop parmigiana was incredible. Never had anything like it at an Italian restaurant. Truly takes veal parmigiana to another level. Beyond the food being fantastic, both our servers were great. Took wonderful care of us all night long, making our time together even more special. Highly recommended!
Get An Outside Table. And Tony Was Awesome!
italian food... so delicious. It was so savory. Really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, I'll be back. The place has an awesome atmosphere.
This place is, hands-down, my favorite Italian restaurant in Atlanta. It has the best quality Italian food and recipes that you can eat. It has the first-class, upscale service that you appreciate when eating a good meal. Take your significant other on a date night, or treat yourself to a good meal. When it is nice out, see if they have space on the patio. And make sure to not be rushed. Get a bottle of wine, take your time with each course, and talk to the waiters about the food and wine. They are not only super friendly, but many of them have been working there for a long time and know the food better than anyone. I have to give a shout-out to Billy. He is the man. To sum it up, this place is amazing, and, if you want the best Italian meal in Atlanta, you have to check it out!
Always a treat! Haven't been to Atlanta for >1 year! This was my first choice of retaurants to visit. Superb Italian food. Very authentic. Service is impeccable!
On a quick business trip to Atlanta, I stopped by this “gem” based on the great Google reviews. But, having eaten a meal here, it appears this place needs to stop reading its own press. To start, when I checked in, the hostess and bartender openly bickered with one another regarding whether I should be seated at the bar or an individual table. Not a good sign. After that unpleasant exchange and once I was seated, a left-over champagne cooler lingered next to table for a good ten minutes. My server eventually approached the table and barked "do you want anything to drink?" (his first words to me) before I even had an opportunity to look at the menu. I requested regular water while I looked at the wine menu. My server returned after about ten minutes and rudely asked "are you good?" Notwithstanding his lack of decorum, I ordered a wine without my server inquiring about either appetizers or salad. No bread arrived. The wine eventually came and I requested an appetizer despite my "server" not discussing any specials (a different server next to my table spent at least three minutes greeting his table and discussing the specials) or asking about whether I wanted an appetizer. I politely asked about the lack of bread. To his credit, my server apologized and bread soon arrived. The appetizer was okay. Once I finished my appetizer, my server appeared five minutes later and asked again if I “was okay.” I placed an order for a meat dish to be cooked medium rare. Fifteen minutes later, the meat arrived cooked medium well. Flavor-wise, it was also just "okay." I was tempted to order some pasta given the good reviews, but I was so frustrated by the experience up to that point, I declined. I was also irritated that my server not once asked if my food was prepared properly. I paid my bill and left. I travel frequently, eat at many nice restaurants, and cannot at all understand why this place, with dated décor and terrible, condescending service--in the basement of a condo complex in Atlanta--has garnered a 4.7 star review. Has anyone in this area of the country actually tasted real Italian food?
Great scene for tasty Italian food. Definitely one of the best places in the area. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. It has a great interior.
Italian food at this spot - super tasty. Great hospitality. Fast, efficient, and courteous service.
This restaurant has fantastic service and tasty food. One of the best restaurant in the area. The meals served rapidly and the prices were affordable. Recommended.
Ok spot for delicious italian food. definitely one of the best places in the area. there was quick, helpful, and friendly service. this place has a good feel to it.
Absolutely amazing. Impeccable service, atmosphere and cuisine! Underrated. One of the best restaurants I have ever been too. A bit pricey but worth every penny. If you have not been to La Grotta, GO!
Italian food and service at this location is excellent. got there about one, it wasn't busy.
Excellent service and food. Love the restaurant!
My best friend's 25th wedding anniversary. The food, service, and out door atmosphere was excellent!!!
Great food great service
One of my favorite places for quality italian food. Everyone at our table was very satisfied. The bill was fair I would say. Feels similar to a restaurant in Philadelphia that I enjoyed visiting.
Italian food, mmm, so fresh. everyone at our table was enjoying everything. the service was very sociable and kind. makes me feel like i in nashville again.
Amazing! Being of Italian descent, it felt so nice to find homemade pasta served with such fresh ingredients! The kitchen is very accommodating, you can order two half portions of you can’t decide on one. We went to La Grotta for my husbands’s birthday and our server Demian could not have been kinder, he recommended food and beverage options to us that we loved. We got a dessert a two glasses of champagne on the house to celebrate. We will surely return for more amazing dinners and we will definitely ask for Demian!
Authentic Italian food.
Always excellent food, service and ambiance.
Food was good, not excellent; staff was very friendly & helpful; indoor atmosphere is nursing-home drab, but the patio is really nice. Biggest complaint: I called twice to make a reservation (once to change the time, and the second to confirm the reservation a day later), and each time we were told about the required business/formal attire, only to witness people in jeans and sneakers having dinner around us. If you're enforcing rules, they need to be consistent, especially if you're charging $30/plate for dinner.
great. you have to eat it to believe it!
The wait wasn’t long at all, the costumer service was delightful I would definitely recommend
The food was perfect. Everything I wanted it to be. The atmosphere was cozy and the bartender Andi was personable and professional. An impressive wine list at modest prices.
italian food, mmm, very tasty. Great spot for an appetite of any size. The service was friendly and sociable. It has a cool atmosphere.
The best Italian in Atlanta!
Fine place for delicious Italian food. i love this place so much. i look forward to a return trip.
Beautiful patio and great food
Best Old School Italian, very accommodating with whatever you are craving. Service is top notch.
Whats good : beautiful outdoor patio. The end. What's not : food was very mediocre. Service is timely given how busy they are but every plate I touched was wet all over and over like it was just washed and brought over, and the server told me it's "oil". Dessert was pretty flat as well. Bottom line: there are better spots out in atl for mediocre pasta and wet plates.
italian food, mmm, so good. Nice place to relax, people watch, eat good, etc. Staff treated us so kindly. This place has a good feel to it.
italian food, yeah, delicious. I like it here, great food & service. Service is typically great. Prices were appropriate.
Excellent ? ? ? ?
Italian food, mmm, very satisfying. Filled me up. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.
We came for dinner because someone had whispered the name of this establishment to my sister in law, who was visiting from Orlando. I had dined here before but it had been many years ago. I have been remiss to not have returned sooner. We began our meal with an appetizer of Burrata Mozzarella with prosciutto, tomato, basil, olive oil, and aged balsamic. Accompanied with slices of toasted bread and olive oil with balsamic for dipping, this was a perfect choice, full of flavor... The Burrata was delicate and smooth. Next, we enjoyed a chilled soup pureed, with celery as a base and garnished with smoked salmon... It was delicious and refreshing. We ordered the same entre and both of us enjoyed the Filetto di Manzo al Barolo. This filet, topped with Gorgonzola in a Barolo pommery mustard sauce, was served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and surrounded by seasonal vegetables. This was THE BEST steak I've been served in a very long time. We chose a bottle of Chianti Clásico Riserva, Tenuta di Arceno, Strada al Sasso. I highly recommend this selection. It was dry, full bodied and had a very smooth finish. Beautiful. We completed our meal with Espresso, dark Sambuca, Cappuccino, Gran Marnier, and a shared Creme Brule garnished with raspberries and mint leaves. This dessert is not only one of my favorites to indulge in but is also one of my favorite to make so I feel, with some authority, that I can say the dessert was beautifully executed. The meal was, indeed, not inexpensive but the attentiveness of the wait staff, the care afforded us while dining, the presentation of the courses, and the delicious foods concocted by the chef and his staff made it worth every single penny. Thank you La Grotta for a wonderful dining experience!
pasta was tasty, service was excellent
